General Gogol
Acting as the "M"-like representative of the KGB, General Anatol Golgol represents the desires of the opposing side of the Cold War within six of the Bond films. Gogol's actions for the purpose of the Russian state makes him both an ally and an enemy to the forces of MI6 during an era of thawing relations between East and West.
Appears In (and positioning):
  • The Spy Who Loved Me: Initially seen sending Major Anya Amasova (Agent XXX) to retrieve valuable information from the British after the disappearance of several submarines, he ultimately allies with the British agents to take down the true threat of Karl Stromberg from destroying both East and West for his underwater paradise.
  • Moonraker: Only seen speaking alongside the West to show his support of the takedown of megalomaniac industrialist Hugo Drax's space-based schemes of global destruction.
  • For Your Eyes Only: Hires Greek industrialist Aristotle Kristatos to obtain the ATAC. Bond seizes it and ultimately throws it off the top of the cliffside, keeping "detente" for both sides and preventing Gogol from taking it.
  • Octopussy: Shown to be against the potential peace-shattering invasion scheme of Russian General Orlov. Gogol discovers the truth about Orlov's Russian jewels smuggling scheme and ultimately saw him dying and promised him military dishonor, even as Orlov's plan of using a nuclear weapon on a U.S. base via the train of Octopussy's circus was going as planned.
  • A View to a Kill: As Russian "experiment" Max Zorin puts together his schemes such as creating "steroid-enhanced supermen" and in preparation of his ultimate move to destroy Silicon Valley, Golgol is forced to confront him to keep him in line and prevent the psychotic madman from going too far. Attempting to handle Zorin on his own, he attempts to use KGB agent Pola to seduce Bond into giving further information, but ultimately gives the agent the highest honor of his land after putting a stop to Zorin on his own.
  • The Living Daylights: Having been promoted to a higher position, he congratulates cellist Kara Milovy and gives her a visa to go between East and West at the endas a reward for helping to take down her former boyfriend Georgi Kosokov.
Actor:
  • Walter Gotell. Born in Germany in 1924, he died in 1997.

Trivia : Walter Gotell also appeared in From Russia with Love as chief of SPECTRE training branch Morzeny in 1963.

Beskrivning: Venz är en av General Gogol vakter som följer med honom att träffa Max Zorin.  Lundgren fick rollen för att han dejtade Grace Jones vid den tidpunkten. (var med i 2 sekunder)
