Dolph Lundgren attended the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. He received a master's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia in 1982, and the next year was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to MIT. In New York City he met drama coach Waffen Robertson and tried chis chance as an actor concentrating on action movies. His last movie, The Shooter was shot mainly in Prague, Czech Republic. Lundgren has a second-degree black belt in karate and is aiming for his third-degree black belt.

Mini biography

Dolph Lundgren is living proof that brains and brawn do go together. Born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden, Lundgren attended the Royal Institute of Technology. Spending time abroad in the United States on various academic scholarships, he attended Washington State University and Clemson in South Carolina. In 1982, he received a scholarship to complete his Masters degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Sydney in Australia. The following year, he was awarded a Fullbright Scholarship to the world-renowned Massachusetts Institute of Technology. While on his way to Boston to continue his studies, he stopped to New York City and there his life took a radical turn. While working at the trendy Limelight Disco along side actor Chazz Palminteri, Lundgren met with noted drama coach Warren Robertson, and decided to give acting a try. Lundgren made his feature film debut in the James Bond movie A View to a Kill (1985), which co-starred his then lover Grace Jones. Then he beat out 5000 other hopefuls to land the breakthrough role of Ivan Drago, Sylvester Stallone's opponent in Rocky IV (1985). The success of this film led Lundgren to star in numerous films including Masters of the Universe (1987), The Punisher (1989), Showdown in Little Tokyo (1991) opposite the late Brandon Lee, Universal Soldier (1992) and Johnny Mnemonic (1995). In 1993, he starred in Pentathlon (1994), an action-drama which he also produced under his own production company, Thor Pictures (also known as Red Orm Productions). While most his films tend to typecast him as a bicep-bulging hero, Lundgren is also a founding member of "Group of Eight," a New York theater group started in 1994 which performed "Another Octopus". A world-class athlete, Lundgren took up martial arts at 14 and has achieved his third degree black belt). His accomplishments in the sport include being the captain of the Swedish full-contact karate team and the winner of the European Heavyweight Full-Contact Karate Championship in 1980 and 1981, as well as the Australian heavyweight division title in 1982. Lundgren's lifelong interest in physical fitness led to his 1987 workout video called Maximum Potential. In addition to his karate expertise, Lundgren was selected to serve as the Team Leader of the 1996 U.S. Olympic Pentathlon Team. He is married to Annette Qviberg Lundgren, a jewelry designer and fashion stylist. The couple divide their time between New York City and Stockholm, Sweden. Their daughter Ida was born in April, 1996.

She also co-starred with James Caan in Norman Jewison's futuristic drama "Rollerball". Several other movies followed, most notably "Tattoo", a story about obsession starring Bruce Dem, and "Playing for Time" a moving concentration camp drama written by Arthur Miller and starring Vanessa Redgrave on PBS. She has also made numerous guest appearances on television and hosted a nightly, live talk show on national television in Sweden in `92 and `93. Maud has a co-starring role in a television series called "Radioskugga" that will start airing this spring in Sweden (SVT 1). This summer she will be a guest of honor at the Homecoming Days in Luleå and Haparanda.

Though a new face to American film audiences, Izabella has enjoyed a considerable amount of success in Sweden as an actress, singer and model. Born in the northern Polish village of Bialystok, she moved to Sweden with her mother as a young child. She studied drama and music and, at 17, was discovered by a Swedish film director who cast her in the movie No One Can Love Like Us, which made her a local teenage idol.

She then became a successful model in Sweden and throughout Europe, where she made good use of her fluency in four languages. In 1989, Scorupco displayed another facet of her talents, launching her career as a pop singer with her first single, "Substitute".. The single and subsequent album "IZA" both went gold and she followed with another hit single "Shame,
Shame," which she recorded in 1991.

Returning to acting in 1994, she immediately won the lead role in the Swedish film Petri Tears. Scorupco stars as a woman who lives her life as a man in this medieval drama, which was released in August 1995.

Scorupco insists that she has no problem with the designation given to the women of past Bond adventures. "I don't mind being called a `Bond girl', I take it as a compliment. I've always loved the Bond films - the glamorous locations, the extraordinary situationsso even if they'd had me running around on high heels and sighing `Oh James' I would have done it. For it's being part of a legend. It's just fantastic."
