Remember in Thunderball when James Bond is escaping from bad guys, tosses on his jetpack and cruises away like it’s no big deal?

Yeah, you can do that too now. Except you don’t have to run away from dudes firing guns, and you’ll also have the freedom of doing so over the lovely Florida Keys.

Thanks to the folks at the aptly named Jetpack Adventures, it’s as easy as something much lamer like riding a bike, and it’ll only cost you $249.

Basically, what happens is that a 30-foot hose attached to the backpack runs to a tiny little boat which pumps seawater to use as a propellant and lets you fly around like you’re a bird or a crime-fighting, world-saving stud in a white tuxedo jacket.

The trip costs $249 and nets you 1.5 hours of total time, although the majority is apparently spent training on the equipment (this sort of thing comes with a touch of legal disclaimer, one would assume), and ends up netting consumers 30 minutes of actual “flying time.”

Presumably, the more you use the equipment, though, the longer you can fly around, like skydiving. And, besides, it’s here before the hover board so it’s hard to complain too much.
